ClampCheck is a desktop + mobile companion app for CNC routers and mills that helps makers and small shops prevent the most common, expensive mistake: parts shifting mid-job. It guides users through a quick pre-flight checklist, then uses a phone camera to document the workholding setup (clamps, screws, tape, vacuum pods) and stores it with the job file. During the run, the mobile app prompts timed “pause-and-verify” checks based on toolpath risk (long roughing passes, aggressive stepdowns, thin walls). After the job, users log whether the part moved, where, and why; the app builds a simple internal knowledge base of “what worked” per material, stock size, and machine. This is not glamorous; it’s operational discipline packaged into a lightweight tool that reduces scrap, broken bits, and machine crashes for people who don’t have formal process control.
