ClanScribe
ClanScribe is a mobile + web app (AI + traditional) for endangered-language communities to capture high-quality speech and turn it into usable learning assets without needing a linguist on-site. Speakers or helpers record short prompts (stories, daily phrases, songs), and the app auto-segments audio, generates time-aligned transcripts (when possible), and produces a draft translation workflow. Crucially, every clip is packaged with clear rights, access levels (private, clan-only, public), and “do-not-train” flags so communities retain control. The web dashboard lets project leads review, correct, and export to common formats (ELAN, CSV, SRT) for researchers or curriculum builders. It’s realistic about AI limits: if the language has no model support, the app still delivers value via structured recording, metadata, and human review queues. Monetization is via subscriptions for organizations plus optional paid setup.
