ClauseCensor
ClauseCensor is a web + desktop app for defensible document redaction with an audit trail that actually holds up under scrutiny. Users upload PDFs, Word files, and scanned images; the app detects common sensitive patterns (PII, PHI, financial identifiers) and also lets teams define “matter rules” (e.g., redact all client names except approved parties). It runs a two-pass workflow: automated suggestions plus mandatory human confirmation, then generates a redaction certificate showing what was removed, why, who approved it, and when. It includes a “leak check” that re-OCRs the exported file to confirm nothing is recoverable (a real-world failure point in many tools). It’s built for small legal teams that can’t afford enterprise suites but still need reliability, logging, and repeatable processes.
