ClauseTrail
ClauseTrail is a web app (with optional mobile alerts) that tracks government procurements from award through contract execution, focusing on the part most transparency tools miss: amendments, extensions, change orders, and scope creep. It ingests award notices, contract PDFs, and amendment documents from public portals, then normalizes them into a timeline: original terms, vendor, ceiling value, deliverables, dates, and every modification. An AI layer extracts key clauses (termination, renewal, pricing, SLAs), flags unusual changes (large value jumps, repeated extensions, vague deliverables), and generates a plain-language summary that journalists, watchdogs, and procurement teams can cite. Users can subscribe to agencies, vendors, or categories and get alerts when risk patterns appear. The reality: data quality is messy, so the MVP prioritizes a few jurisdictions and “best-effort” extraction with clear confidence scores and source links.
