CleanLabelr

CleanLabelr is a mobile app that helps people prevent flare-ups and unwanted symptoms by making packaged-food shopping less risky. Users set a personal “avoid list” (e.g., lactose, gluten, high sodium, artificial sweeteners, histamine triggers, migraine triggers, GERD triggers) and optional health goals (lower sodium, fewer ultra-processed foods). In-store, they scan barcodes and get a simple green/yellow/red result with the exact ingredients or additives that caused the rating, plus safer alternatives. It also flags misleading marketing claims (e.g., “natural,” “keto,” “immune”) by comparing them to ingredient and nutrition facts. This is not a medical device; it’s a practical prevention tool for everyday decisions. The app learns from user feedback (“this product bothered me”) to refine personal sensitivity profiles over time and can generate a weekly “safe staples” list to reduce decision fatigue.
