CleanList is a mobile app (with a lightweight web dashboard) that lets users scan a makeup product barcode or label and instantly see ingredient risk flags tailored to their preferences (fragrance-free, fungal acne-safe, pregnancy-safe, sensitive skin, etc.). It’s an AI-assisted app: OCR reads ingredient lists from photos, then a rules + database layer maps ingredients to concerns and explains the “why” in plain language. Users can build a personal “safe list,” get alerts when a product formula changes, and compare alternatives at the store. The app is realistic because it doesn’t pretend to diagnose skin conditions; it focuses on transparency, preference matching, and repeatable ingredient logic. Monetization is freemium: free scans with limits, paid for unlimited scans, advanced filters, and change alerts. Brands can’t pay to hide flags; trust is the product.
