ClickPause

ClickPause is a mobile app + browser extension that teaches kids (8–14) safer online habits in the moment, not in a boring course. When a child is about to share personal info, click an unknown link, download a file, or respond to a suspicious message, ClickPause triggers a short “micro-check” prompt (10–20 seconds) with kid-friendly explanations and a simple choice: proceed, ask a parent, or block. Parents get a weekly digest showing patterns (e.g., most common risky situations) without reading full message content, aiming to reduce surveillance creep. It includes age-based lessons, a family “rules” setup, and a lightweight incident button for “something weird happened” that guides the child through safe steps. Realistically, it won’t stop everything (kids can bypass controls), but it can measurably reduce impulsive risky clicks and oversharing.
