ClinicGap

ClinicGap is a web + mobile app for public health teams and community organizations to identify and track “care deserts” at the neighborhood level. It combines public datasets (CDC/ACS, HRSA, transportation, broadband, pharmacy locations) with lightweight local inputs (clinic wait times, appointment availability, language access, hours, sliding-scale policies) to produce a practical equity dashboard. Users can map gaps by travel time, insurance acceptance, disability access, and language coverage, then generate shareable reports for grant applications, board meetings, and city councils. The app also supports simple interventions tracking: what changed (new clinic hours, mobile unit route, telehealth kiosk), when, and whether access metrics improved. This is not a magic solution—data will be messy and incomplete—but it can replace spreadsheets and one-off maps with a repeatable, auditable workflow that makes inequities harder to ignore and easier to act on.
