ClipChapters is a mobile + web AI companion for audiobook listeners who can’t easily “bookmark” audio the way they do text. It records time-stamped clips, auto-transcribes them, and lets you tag, search, and export highlights to Notion/Obsidian or share a clean quote card with an audio snippet. The app also generates short chapter summaries and “key takeaways” based only on your captured clips (not the whole book) to avoid hallucinated summaries and copyright issues. The honest reality: you will not beat Audible/Spotify on catalog, pricing, or playback experience, so you shouldn’t try. Instead, integrate with what people already use by importing listening progress via manual timestamps and optional OS-level media controls. Monetization is subscription-based for power features (unlimited transcription, exports, and advanced search), with a free tier that caps clips/transcription minutes.
