ClipCred is a mobile + web AI app that helps fans and sports media staff verify whether a circulating sports video clip is authentic, edited, or miscaptioned. Users paste a link or upload a clip; the app extracts key frames, checks for common manipulation artifacts, and cross-references the moment against trusted sources (official league accounts, broadcaster uploads, and reputable highlight feeds). It then returns a simple “Likely Real / Unclear / Likely Altered” rating with evidence: matching frames, earliest known upload, and context like game, timestamp, and players involved. It also generates a shareable verification card for social posts, reducing the spread of fake quotes, wrong-attribution clips, and out-of-context highlights. This is not magic: it won’t prove everything, but it will catch a meaningful portion of viral misinformation and save time for anyone who needs to post fast without embarrassing mistakes.
