ClipGuardian

ClipGuardian is a mobile + browser extension parental-control app that focuses on the messiest problem parents actually face: short-form video feeds (YouTube, TikTok, Reels) where “kids content” can turn weird fast. It monitors what a child is about to watch, generates a plain-language explanation of why it may be risky (sexualized themes, self-harm, grooming cues, extremist content, scams, age-inappropriate language), and lets parents set rules that block, blur, or require approval. Instead of only time limits, it gives parents a daily “what they almost saw” report and a one-tap conversation guide to discuss the content without panic. It also supports shared custody: two guardians can manage rules and see the same audit trail. This is not magic; it won’t catch everything, but it reduces the worst surprises and gives parents leverage where incumbents are weak: understanding and context, not just blocking.
