ClipLedger
ClipLedger is a web app + browser extension that helps journalists, researchers, and creators verify where viral “facts” came from. Users paste a tweet, TikTok link, YouTube clip, or article URL; the app extracts key quotes, timestamps, and entities, then tries to trace them to the earliest available source (full video, transcript, original post, or primary document). It produces a shareable “provenance card” showing the claim, the supporting snippet, confidence level, and a chain of links with dates. This is not magic truth detection: it’s a workflow tool that reduces time spent hunting originals and prevents accidental misattribution. Teams can collaborate, annotate, and export citations for newsletters and reports. The product lives or dies on coverage quality and speed, so the MVP should focus on a few platforms (YouTube + X + web articles) and do those well.
