CoatCheck is a web + mobile app for thin-film and coating labs to standardize run setup, capture process parameters, and catch drift before it ruins batches. Users create “recipes” for sputtering, ALD, spin coating, or evaporation, then log each run with required fields (tool, target/precursor lot, chamber history, base pressure, power, gas flows, substrate prep, bake steps). The app auto-flags out-of-spec entries and correlates outcomes (thickness, sheet resistance, adhesion, roughness) with process conditions and tool state. It’s a hybrid traditional + AI app: traditional for structured logging and permissions; AI to summarize run notes, suggest likely root causes from prior failures, and generate a concise shift-handover report. Reality check: it won’t replace metrology or magically “optimize” physics, but it will reduce preventable mistakes and make troubleshooting faster and less tribal.
