Cobol2API

Cobol2API is a web app (with an optional desktop agent) that helps enterprises wrap COBOL/CICS/DB2 programs behind secure REST/gRPC APIs without a full rewrite. It connects to a mainframe via standard interfaces, inventories transactions, maps copybooks to JSON schemas, and generates API definitions plus adapter code. It also includes a test harness to replay production-like requests (sanitized) to validate parity between the legacy transaction and the new API wrapper. This is not magic modernization: it won’t “convert COBOL to microservices” reliably. Instead, it focuses on the pragmatic middle ground most teams actually need—stable integration for new channels, partner connectivity, and gradual strangler-pattern migrations. The product ships with opinionated templates for common mainframe patterns (screen-scrape avoidance, CICS commareas, DB2 cursors) and produces artifacts that can be owned and maintained by the customer’s engineers.
