CodeWordKid

CodeWordKid is a mobile app that helps families teach and practice “stranger danger” responses using simple, repeatable codewords and short role-play drills. Parents set a family pickup codeword and a small set of safe responses (e.g., “I need to ask my parent first,” “I can’t go anywhere without the codeword”). The app delivers 60–90 second practice prompts a few times per week, tailored by age, and tracks completion so parents can see if the habit is forming. It also includes a “trusted circle” list (approved adults, neighbors, school contacts) and a quick-reference screen kids can access without unlocking (limited, non-sensitive info). This is not a magic safety shield: it won’t stop a determined offender. It’s a realistic behavior-training tool that improves odds by reducing confusion and freezing in the moment.
