ColdTier is a web app + lightweight agent that continuously analyzes your object storage (S3-compatible) and automatically moves data between hot, cool, and archive tiers based on real access patterns and restore requirements. It flags “zombie” data, predicts retrieval costs, and simulates policy changes before you apply them. The product is brutally focused on one outcome: lowering storage spend without surprise egress/retrieval bills or broken compliance. It supports rules like “keep last 30 days hot, next 180 days infrequent, then archive,” but also learns exceptions (e.g., quarter-end reports) using simple AI forecasting. You get a clear dashboard showing savings, risk (restore time), and policy drift. MVP targets AWS S3 + Glacier and one S3-compatible provider, because trying to support every cloud on day one will kill you.
