CollabCut is a web + mobile app for creators who want to safely use user-generated clips (fans, event attendees, customers) without drowning in DMs, missing credits, or messy file chaos. Creators post a “clip request” link for an event or theme; contributors upload short videos, choose a license (free, credit-only, or paid), and confirm they own the footage. CollabCut auto-organizes submissions, detects duplicates, and generates a simple release record per clip (who uploaded, when, what rights they granted). Creators can quickly shortlist the best moments, request higher-quality originals, and export a structured package for their editor (with credits and license terms attached). This is not a full editor; it’s a rights-aware intake and curation pipeline that reduces the risk and time cost of using UGC at scale.
