ColonyPulse

ColonyPulse is a web + mobile app (traditional + AI) that helps lab animal facilities detect early welfare and husbandry risks using lightweight daily inputs and automated trend monitoring. Technicians log quick observations (activity, coat, posture, respiration, wounds, food/water anomalies), procedure flags, and environmental notes in under 30 seconds per cage/room. The system then surfaces “watch lists” by room, strain, and study, highlighting abnormal patterns (e.g., rising dermatitis in one rack, post-procedure weight loss clustering, recurring wet bedding). It generates IACUC-ready incident summaries and corrective-action notes, and provides audit trails without turning the workflow into a compliance nightmare. The AI is deliberately constrained: it doesn’t diagnose; it prioritizes follow-up and suggests standard checklists and escalation paths. Realistically, adoption hinges on being faster than paper and less painful than full LIMS/ELN suites.
