ColWatch

ColWatch is a web app (with optional lightweight agent) that continuously monitors columnar databases (ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery) for query performance regressions and cost spikes. It learns a baseline per query fingerprint, warehouse/cluster size, and data volume, then alerts when latency, bytes scanned, spill, or credit burn deviates beyond expected ranges. It also captures the exact plan/EXPLAIN, recent schema changes, partitioning/sort key shifts, and ingestion anomalies to speed up root-cause analysis. An AI assistant summarizes likely causes (e.g., missing projection, bad clustering, skew, new join cardinality) and proposes concrete fixes with safe rollout steps. Realistically, this wins because teams already have dashboards, but they don’t have regression detection tied to query fingerprints and plans—so incidents repeat. Pricing targets mid-market analytics teams who feel Snowflake/BigQuery bills and ClickHouse latency pain weekly.
