ContextLedger
ContextLedger is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) for journalists and editors to manage “living claims” across ongoing coverage. Instead of fact-checking each article in isolation, teams create a claim card (e.g., “City budget deficit is $42M”), attach primary sources, note confidence, and link every story that repeats or updates it. The app monitors linked sources for changes (PDF replacements, webpage edits, new datasets) and flags when a previously published claim needs an update, correction, or editor’s note. It also generates a public-facing “claim history” widget that can be embedded in articles to show what changed and why—useful for transparency and reader trust. This is not a magic truth machine; it’s a workflow tool that reduces repeated work and makes updates harder to miss in fast-moving beats.
