ContractCrate
ContractCrate is a web app plus CLI that turns real production traffic into versioned API contracts and test fixtures, then keeps them from drifting. You connect it to your gateway or ingest logs (OpenTelemetry/Envoy/Nginx), and it continuously infers request/response shapes, required fields, enums, and edge cases. It generates OpenAPI updates, consumer-driven contract tests, and deterministic mocks seeded from captured examples. When a backend change breaks a consumer, it flags the exact endpoint, field, and sample payload that regressed, and can open a PR with updated contracts and tests. This is not a “magic AI that understands everything”; it’s a pragmatic pipeline that uses statistical inference plus optional AI to label fields, suggest constraints, and summarize breaking changes. The goal is fewer silent API breaks, less manual schema upkeep, and faster, more trustworthy mocks for integration testing.
