CoopHotspot
CoopHotspot helps rural communities share a single upstream connection (Starlink, fixed wireless, DSL) across multiple nearby homes with simple governance and transparent cost-splitting. It’s a mobile + web app that pairs with common off-the-shelf routers to manage vouchers, bandwidth caps, and payment collection for each household. The app guides a “network steward” through setup, then tracks uptime, usage, and who owes what—without pretending to magically improve signal. It also includes a lightweight outage log and a community bulletin for maintenance windows. This is a traditional app with a small AI component: AI-assisted troubleshooting that suggests likely causes (power, dish obstruction, backhaul congestion) based on router stats and user reports. The goal is not enterprise-grade ISP tooling; it’s practical, small-scale connectivity co-ops that already exist informally but are messy to run.
