CountSure is a mobile + web app that digitizes surgical sponge/instrument/needle counts and reconciles them in real time across the scrub and circulating nurse workflow. It replaces paper count sheets with a structured, time-stamped checklist that enforces standardized count phases (initial, cavity closure, skin closure) and requires explicit discrepancy resolution steps. The app supports barcode/QR scanning for instrument sets and optional photo capture of count boards for audit trails. It generates a clean, exportable record for the chart and quality reviews, and flags patterns (e.g., frequent discrepancies by case type or service line) for perioperative leadership. This is a traditional app with light AI: anomaly detection to highlight unusual count patterns and suggest likely sources of mismatch, but it does not “guess” counts. Realistically, adoption hinges on workflow speed and OR policy alignment, not flashy AI.
