CreditClamp

CreditClamp is a web app + API for merchants that blocks gift card and store-credit abuse at checkout. It focuses on the ugly, expensive edge cases: stolen gift cards, scripted balance checks, refund-to-credit laundering, and promo stacking that destroys margins. The product sits between the cart and payment authorization, scoring each gift-card/credit redemption attempt using device fingerprinting, velocity rules, and behavioral signals. It can auto-step-up verification (OTP, 3DS-like challenge, or require account login) when risk is high, and it provides a simple rules engine so non-technical ops teams can tune thresholds without engineering. The dashboard shows loss prevented, attack patterns, and which rules are causing false positives so teams can adjust quickly. This is not a “make gift cards prettier” tool; it’s a loss-prevention layer that pays for itself only if it reduces real fraud and support tickets.
