CrewClaim is a web + mobile resource scheduling app for hourly teams that replaces manager-driven shift assignment with controlled self-scheduling. Managers publish a demand plan (roles, headcount, locations, skill requirements) and the system opens eligible shifts for staff to claim. Guardrails prevent overtime, double-booking, missed rest periods, and skill mismatches, while fairness rules (rotation, seniority, points) reduce favoritism complaints. It integrates with payroll/time clocks to reflect actual punches vs scheduled time and flags coverage gaps early. It’s not magic: it won’t fix chronic understaffing, and adoption will fail if policies aren’t clear. But for teams constantly juggling call-outs and last-minute coverage, it reduces scheduling churn and the volume of “can you cover?” messages. MVP focuses on one organization, one location, and simple rule sets before expanding to multi-site complexity.
