CrisisKWh
CrisisKWh is a mobile + web app that helps households at risk of disconnection quickly find and complete the most realistic energy-bill relief options in their area. Users answer a short intake (income band, household size, arrears, utility, ZIP/postcode, housing type), then the app matches them to local programs: utility hardship funds, government assistance, nonprofit grants, payment plans, and emergency protections. It generates a step-by-step checklist per program, pre-fills forms where possible, and provides a “call script” for utility customer service to request holds, payment arrangements, or medical/heating protections. A lightweight caseworker portal lets nonprofits and community orgs track client status and upload program updates. This is not magic: many users still won’t qualify. The app’s value is reducing time, confusion, and missed deadlines when every day matters.
