CritterCall
CritterCall is a mobile + web app that makes urban wildlife reporting actually actionable. Residents submit a sighting or conflict (injured animal, den in attic, aggressive coyote, trapped bird) with photo, location, and a few guided questions. The app auto-triages the report and routes it to the correct destination: city animal control, licensed rehabilitators, vetted humane wildlife control operators, or “self-serve guidance” when a callout would waste everyone’s time. It also gives step-by-step, locality-aware instructions (what to do now, what not to do, legal notes) and lets responders update status so residents stop calling multiple agencies. The honest reality: most “wildlife apps” are feel-good logging tools; this one focuses on reducing call volume, misroutes, and bad outcomes. Revenue comes from municipal subscriptions and lead fees from vetted operators (with strict quality controls).
