CrowdHalo
CrowdHalo is a mobile AI app that helps people maintain comfortable personal space in crowded environments using your phone’s camera and on-device sensing. You point your phone forward (or mount it on a lanyard/clip), and it estimates how close people are getting, then gives subtle haptic alerts when someone enters your chosen comfort radius. It includes quick presets for situations like commuting, concerts, queues, and elevators, plus an “accessibility mode” for users with anxiety, PTSD, or sensory overload. The app is intentionally privacy-first: it does not identify faces, store video, or upload frames by default—distance is computed on-device. It’s not magic: accuracy varies with lighting and camera angle, and it won’t prevent contact in dense crowds. But it can reduce surprise encroachment and help users proactively reposition before discomfort spikes.
