CrowdPulse
CrowdPulse is a mobile + web app for real-time public transit tracking that stays useful even when agency feeds are wrong, delayed, or missing. Riders share lightweight, privacy-safe signals: “bus arrived,” “train departed,” “too crowded,” “skipped stop,” and optional anonymized location pings while on-board. The app fuses these reports with official GTFS-RT when available to produce a confidence-scored ETA and crowding level per vehicle and platform. It’s brutally practical: if there’s no data, it tells you that clearly and asks for a quick confirmation rather than pretending. For commuters, the payoff is fewer wasted minutes and fewer surprise full buses. For cities and operators, an optional dashboard highlights chronic gaps in real-time feeds and identifies routes where reliability is collapsing, using aggregated rider signals rather than expensive hardware rollouts.
