CrowdReceipt

CrowdReceipt is a web + mobile app where communities crowdsource “trend evidence” instead of opinions. Users submit verifiable receipts—screenshots, links, sales rank snapshots, event sellouts, waitlists, Google Trends captures—and tag them to a claim like “X is back” or “Y is dying.” Submissions earn credibility points when other users validate them, and lose points when flagged as misleading or outdated. The app outputs a living “trend dossier” with a confidence score, timeline, and geographic spread. Brands, journalists, and creators can post bounties for specific evidence (e.g., “show 20 examples of micro-bakeries selling out in Austin this month”) and pay small rewards. It’s not a prediction engine; it’s a structured, crowdsourced evidence library that makes trend conversations less noisy and more accountable.
