CrowdShield is a mobile + web AI-assisted transit safety reporting and verification tool focused on what riders actually experience: harassment, threats, vandalism, medical issues, and suspicious behavior. Riders can submit a 10-second “tap report” tied to route/vehicle/stop using GPS plus optional photo/audio (with clear consent prompts). The app automatically clusters multiple reports from the same vehicle/stop window to reduce false alarms and surfaces a confidence score. When a threshold is met, it pushes alerts to nearby riders (“move cars,” “use next stop,” “seek staff”) and provides a one-tap escalation path to transit security or local emergency services, depending on agency integration. Agencies get a web dashboard showing hotspots, repeat offenders by description patterns (not identity), and response-time metrics. Realistically, adoption hinges on trust and partnerships; without them, it’s just another reporting app.
