CrowdWarden

CrowdWarden is a mobile app (with a lightweight web dashboard for organizers) that helps pilgrims avoid dangerous congestion during Hajj and Umrah. It combines official advisories (when available) with anonymous, opt-in location pings and quick “crowd level” check-ins from users to generate live heatmaps and safer walking suggestions between key sites. The app focuses on practical safety: alternate route prompts, time-to-move recommendations, and “stick with group” alerts if you drift too far from your party. It also includes offline-first maps and multilingual, low-literacy UI so it still works when networks are overloaded. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI is used to detect unusual crowd surges, predict near-future bottlenecks, and reduce false alarms from noisy data. Realistically, it won’t replace official guidance, but it can meaningfully reduce confusion and panic.
