CTDCalLog
CTDCalLog is a mobile + web app for oceanography teams to capture CTD/rosette cast metadata and calibration history in the field without spreadsheets. It provides structured forms for sensors (SBE temp/cond/oxygen, fluorometer, transmissometer), pre- and post-cruise calibration entries, and per-cast notes (bottle firing issues, deck offsets, soak times, pump status). The app works offline on ships, then syncs when connectivity returns. It exports standardized cruise-ready packages (CSV + PDF) that match common lab workflows and can be attached to data submissions. A lightweight AI assistant can read instrument calibration certificates (PDF/photo) and auto-populate coefficients, dates, and serial numbers, reducing transcription errors. Realistically, this won’t replace full processing pipelines; it’s a disciplined “source of truth” for the messy operational details that routinely get lost.
