CurtailKit

CurtailKit is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) that helps small and mid-sized commercial sites participate in demand response without expensive custom integration. It connects to common building systems and smart meters (where available), forecasts baseline load, and sends “curtailment playbooks” during DR events (e.g., HVAC setpoint shifts, refrigeration defrost timing, EV charger throttling). The app tracks performance in near real time, estimates kW reduction, and produces audit-ready reports for utilities/aggregators. It also includes a simple incentive calculator so facility managers understand what they’ll actually earn versus operational risk. This is not magic: if a site has no controllable loads or no data access, it won’t work. The product is designed to minimize setup time and reduce measurement-and-verification disputes, which is where many small DR programs break down.
