CutCheck

CutCheck is a mobile + web app that tells you exactly which version of a movie or episode is on each streaming/VOD service: theatrical vs. director’s cut, censored edits, music changes, aspect ratio/cropping, HDR/Dolby Vision availability, audio tracks, subtitles, and runtime differences. Users can search a title and instantly see “what you’ll actually get” on Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV, etc., with side-by-side comparisons and proof notes (screenshots, timecodes, release identifiers). The app blends community reporting with automated checks: it flags likely mismatches using metadata, audio fingerprinting for track differences, and runtime/bitrate anomalies. It also lets users set alerts (“notify me when the uncut version appears”) and keeps a personal watchlist that prioritizes the best available version. This is not a recommendation engine; it’s a verification tool for people tired of surprises.
