CutTrace

CutTrace is a mobile + web app for small meat/seafood retailers and restaurants to reduce spoilage and prevent risky product from being served. Staff scan a QR code on each tray/tote (printed in-store) and log key handling events: received time, storage location, temp checks, thaw start, portioning, and discard. The app calculates a practical “safe-to-use by” window based on product type (fish vs. poultry vs. beef), whether it was previously frozen, and how long it spent in the danger zone. It produces simple shift checklists, alerts when items are approaching discard, and generates a lightweight audit trail for internal QA and local inspectors. This is not a lab-grade system; it’s an operational tracker that makes messy back-of-house handling visible and enforceable without expensive sensors.
