DarkSkyLog
DarkSkyLog is a mobile + web app for amateur astronomers who want consistently better observing nights without drowning in charts. It combines location-based sky quality estimates, weather/seeing forecasts, and a simple observing log that learns what you actually enjoy viewing. You build a target list (planets, Messier objects, comets, satellites), the app suggests the best 60–120 minute window based on your gear, light pollution, moon phase, and horizon obstructions. After a session, you record what you saw, difficulty, and notes; the app then recommends future targets at the right challenge level and alerts you when conditions match. It’s not a “pretty planetarium” clone—it's a practical workflow tool for planning, executing, and improving sessions, with optional AI summaries of your logs and personalized recommendations.
