DashiDial
DashiDial is a mobile + web AI-assisted cooking companion focused on Japanese flavor building (dashi, shoyu, miso, mirin, sake, kombu, katsuobushi) and practical substitutions. Users input what’s in their pantry, dietary constraints, and the dish they’re attempting (e.g., nikujaga, oyakodon, miso soup). The app outputs a realistic seasoning plan with gram/ml amounts, step timing, and “taste checkpoints” (what it should taste/smell like at each stage). It also includes a small library of verified base ratios (tare, ponzu, teriyaki, sukiyaki warishita) and adjusts them to saltiness targets and available brands. It’s not a recipe feed; it’s a calibration tool that helps home cooks get consistent results without buying niche ingredients. Monetization: subscription for unlimited calibrations + brand-specific profiles; free tier limited per week.
