DataLedger

DataLedger is a web app (traditional + AI) that creates a single source of truth for business metrics by forcing every KPI to have an owner, definition, formula, data source, refresh cadence, and approval history. Instead of yet another dashboard, it sits above your BI stack (Looker/Tableau/Power BI) and tracks “what does this metric mean?” and “can we trust it today?” It monitors upstream schema changes, broken dbt models, missing partitions, and sudden shifts, then alerts the right owner with a plain-English explanation and a link to the impacted reports. An AI assistant helps draft metric definitions, suggests owners based on usage, and summarizes incidents for stakeholders. The goal is fewer executive fire drills, fewer contradictory numbers across teams, and faster onboarding for analysts and operators. It’s realistic because companies already have dashboards; they don’t have governance that actually gets used.
