DataReceipt

DataReceipt is a web app (with optional Slack add-on) that teaches practical data literacy by forcing users to “show the work” behind every chart and KPI they share. Users upload a chart screenshot or paste a metric statement (e.g., “conversion is up 20%”), and the app generates a structured receipt: definition, numerator/denominator, time window, segment filters, data source, sample size, and known caveats. It then runs quick consistency checks (missing baseline, mismatched time ranges, selection bias flags) and produces a shareable one-page summary for stakeholders. Teams can build a lightweight KPI dictionary and require receipts for recurring dashboards, reducing repeated debates and misinterpretations. This isn’t a full BI tool; it’s a guardrail and training layer that fits on top of existing analytics workflows, helping non-analysts communicate data correctly and confidently.
