DataThrottle

DataThrottle is a mobile app that helps people on capped or expensive mobile plans cut data waste without guessing. It monitors per-app cellular usage, detects suspicious background spikes (like social apps auto-refreshing or cloud backups running on LTE), and lets you set hard rules: block cellular in background, allow only on Wi‑Fi, or cap an app to X MB/day. It also includes a “Travel Mode” that switches to aggressive saving when you roam, plus a simple forecast that estimates whether you’ll exceed your monthly cap based on current pace. The app is realistic about limitations: it can’t magically improve signal or override carrier throttling, but it can prevent the most common cause of bill shock—uncontrolled background data. It’s designed for clarity: one screen to see what’s draining data, one screen to stop it.
