DeadZoneMap
DeadZoneMap is a mobile + web app that helps rural residents, schools, clinics, and local governments document real-world internet performance and turn it into evidence that ISPs and grant programs can’t ignore. The mobile app runs lightweight background tests (speed, latency, packet loss) tagged with GPS, time, device, and network type, even when service is intermittent. It automatically builds coverage “truth maps” and generates standardized reports for FCC challenges, state broadband offices, and grant applications. A web dashboard lets counties and co-ops aggregate anonymized community data, spot chronic outages, and quantify impact (e.g., telehealth drop rates). This is not a magic connectivity fix; it’s a practical accountability and planning tool. The business model is B2G/B2B subscriptions for dashboards and report automation, with a free community tier to drive data collection.
