DealGuard
DealGuard is a mobile + web app that verifies whether a laptop/PC listing is actually a good deal, not just marketed as one. Users paste a product link (Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, eBay, Newegg, Facebook Marketplace) or scan a barcode in-store. The app normalizes messy specs (CPU generation, GPU tier, RAM speed, SSD type, screen brightness/refresh, battery size) and flags common “gotchas” like single-channel RAM, low-nit panels, slow SSDs, soldered upgrades, and misleading model numbers. It also checks price history, compares against equivalent configurations, and outputs a simple “Buy / Consider / Skip” with a short explanation. This is an AI + traditional app: AI helps parse listings and map parts to performance tiers, while rules and benchmarks keep results consistent. Monetization: affiliate links + a $4.99/mo pro tier for alerts and deeper comparisons.
