DecalGuard

DecalGuard is a mobile + web app that helps scale model builders plan, place, and execute decals with fewer surprises. You photograph the model, then the app guides you through a decal workflow: surface prep reminders, gloss/matte sequencing, setting-solution compatibility notes, and a placement checklist per decal number. An AI-assisted overlay lets you roughly preview decal positioning on the photo and flags common risk zones (compound curves, panel lines, rivets) where silvering, tearing, or misalignment is likely. It also tracks which decals you’ve applied, which are pending, and what products you used, creating a repeatable “recipe” for future builds. This isn’t magic: the overlay won’t be millimeter-accurate, and lighting/angles matter. But it can meaningfully reduce rework, ruined decals, and frustration—especially on expensive kits or limited aftermarket sheets.
