DeckDetective is a mobile app that helps kids and parents quickly identify a board or card game and get playing without digging through lost rulebooks. You point the camera at the box cover, a few key cards, or a player board; the app matches the game and opens a kid-friendly “How to Play” flow with setup photos, turn order, and common mistakes. It also includes short 30–60 second explainer clips and a “first round walkthrough” that prompts players step-by-step. It’s not magic: it won’t perfectly recognize every obscure game, and lighting/older editions can confuse it. The MVP focuses on the 200–500 most common family/kids games and improves coverage over time via user-submitted photos and corrections. Monetization is realistic: freemium with a small subscription for unlimited scans, offline packs, and multi-language rules.
