DeductiMate is a web + mobile app that helps households and small businesses reduce insurance waste by finding mismatched deductibles, overlapping coverage, and hidden exclusions across auto, home, renters, and small commercial policies. Users upload policy PDFs or connect portals; the app extracts key terms (deductibles, limits, endorsements, exclusions), then runs a plain-English “risk fit” check based on the user’s assets, emergency fund, and common loss scenarios. It outputs a prioritized action list: raise/lower deductibles, remove redundant riders, add missing endorsements, and flag “denial traps” (e.g., water backup, roof depreciation, business interruption). It does not sell insurance; it produces a neutral, auditable report users can take to any broker or carrier. Realistically, the hardest part is accurate document parsing and avoiding bad advice—so the MVP focuses on a narrow set of policies and conservative recommendations with clear disclaimers.
