DeedDecoder
DeedDecoder is a web app with optional mobile capture that helps local historians and genealogists extract structured facts from scanned deeds, wills, and land records. Users upload PDFs or photos, then the app runs OCR and layout detection to isolate key fields (grantor/grantee, dates, parcel descriptions, witnesses, book/page references). It highlights uncertain text, forces human confirmation, and saves a clean, citable record with the original image linked line-by-line. The app also builds a searchable index across your collection and exports to CSV/JSON for spreadsheets and genealogy tools. This is not magic: handwriting and degraded scans will still fail often, so the workflow is designed around fast correction and provenance tracking rather than blind automation. The value is reducing hours of manual transcription into minutes while keeping citations defensible.
