DelayDial
DelayDial is a mobile + desktop companion that targets “I’ll do it later” moments with a configurable delay-and-deposit system. When you try to open selected distracting apps/sites during focus hours, you’re offered three options: wait out a short timer, pay a small refundable deposit, or complete a micro-task tied to your real goal (e.g., write 80 words, review 5 flashcards, send 1 email). Deposits go into a personal “focus wallet” and are returned only if you hit daily targets; miss them and the money is donated to a cause you dislike (or a neutral default if you opt out). It’s not a magical cure: users who hate friction will uninstall. But for people who want a hard edge without full blocking, it creates just enough pain to break the autopilot loop while still allowing legitimate breaks.
