DemurrageIQ is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps shippers, freight forwarders, and NVOCCs prevent demurrage/detention charges by forecasting “at-risk” containers and triggering the right actions before free time expires. It pulls shipment milestones from carrier portals/EDI, terminal status feeds where available, and user-entered events, then normalizes them into a single timeline per container. An AI layer flags anomalies (missing gate-out, customs holds, appointment scarcity) and recommends next steps (book appointment, escalate with terminal, request free-time extension, switch dray carrier). The MVP focuses on exception management, not full TMS features. Reality check: data access is the hardest part—carriers/terminals are fragmented—so the product must work even with partial data and still deliver savings via disciplined workflows and audit-ready logs.
