DenDetect

DenDetect is a mobile + web app that helps field teams and land managers locate likely mammal denning or resting sites using a mix of on-the-ground observations and lightweight AI. Users log signs (tracks, scat, burrow dimensions, habitat notes), attach photos, and the app returns a probability-based shortlist of species and den type, plus a confidence score and “do-not-disturb” guidance. It’s designed for practical work: pre-construction surveys, habitat restoration, park operations, and consulting reports. Offline mode supports remote sites, then syncs later. The web dashboard lets supervisors review observations, export standardized survey summaries (PDF/CSV), and maintain site history over time. This is not a “identify any animal from one blurry photo” toy; it focuses on den evidence and repeatable workflows where accuracy and documentation matter more than novelty.
